Coruscant Control, a hub for space traffic, was operated by the Coruscant Security Force. Its responsibility was to oversee incoming and outgoing space traffic around Coruscant, the capital planet of the Galactic Republic, during both the Great Galactic War and the Cold War periods. Orbital security stations communicated with Control to provide status updates. In 3653 BBY, Femi, a CSF agent, reported an "all clear" message to Coruscant Control from Orbital Security Station Six. Shortly thereafter, the reconstituted Sith Empire entered the space surrounding Coruscant and commenced their invasion. Throughout the Cold War, Coruscant Control managed the departure clearances for starships leaving the Coruscant Spaceport.
The initial appearance of Coruscant Control occurred in the debut issue of Star Wars: The Old Republic, Threat of Peace, the first arc of the series. Robert Chestney authored this webcomic, which began its release on February 27, 2009. This comic served as a narrative precursor to Star Wars: The Old Republic, a Massively multiplayer online role-playing game developed by BioWare.
