The Crèche functioned as a Yuuzhan Vong clustership, commanded by Chine-kal. After the Battle of Gyndine, several prisoners of war – among them Wurth Skidder, Randa Besadii Diori, and Roa – were brought onto the Crèche to assist in the development of yammosks.
During the Battle of Fondor, the ship met its end when Kyp Durron and Ganner Rhysode infiltrated the Crèche with the goal of liberating the captured individuals. Rhysode hurled his lightsaber directly into the yammosk, resulting in the vessel's destruction.
