Craitheus Qreph, a Columi male, was an industrialist who, along with his brother Marvid, managed a business conglomerate for several decades. The brothers jointly acquired control of numerous key industries, which, by the time period of 45 ABY, were indicative of an impending hostile takeover of the galaxy's economic structure. During this period, Craitheus and Marvid, having endured challenging early lives for Columi, relentlessly pursued and murdered individuals suspected of causing their mother's comatose state, while also systematically destroying everything and everyone connected to their victims.
By the year 45 ABY, Craitheus and Marvid had established their presence in the Chiloon Rift, where they actively engaged in the literal theft of resources from the mining cooperative operating within the Rift. Furthermore, they strategically located their primary headquarters, Base Prime, atop an unknown monolith that may have potentially been the Mortis monolith, with the intention of acquiring the ability to harness the Force. To facilitate the robbery of the mining cooperative, they employed pirates to pilfer the ore extracted by the miners. Additionally, the brothers enlisted the services of Mandalorians to safeguard their operations and collaborate with the Nargons, a race of bio-engineered beings whose creation was financially supported by the Qrephs.
While financially supporting pirate activities within the Chiloon Rift, the brothers simultaneously attempted to defraud Lando Calrissian of his asteroid refinery situated on the planet Sarnus, an endeavor that Calrissian vehemently resisted. Consequently, the Qrephs issued orders for the refinery's destruction, resulting in the deaths of thousands of workers present at the site. This catastrophic event served as the catalyst for Calrissian's pursuit of the brothers, aided by his renowned allies, Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, and Leia Organa Solo. This pursuit culminated in a series of events at Base Prime, where the Millennium Falcon launched an assault on the base, accompanied by four Jedi—Skywalker, Organa Solo, Ben Skywalker, and Tahiri Veila—along with six YVH droids. During the assault, Craitheus sustained multiple blaster hits, leaving him in a near-fatal state due to the intervention of the Force-sensitive mercenary Savara Raine, who was acting in self-defense. Marvid, who had previously held Raine in high regard, betrayed her and abandoned her to her fate during the attack, while he transported his gravely injured brother to the gate connecting Base Prime to the monolith, with a human-Columi hybrid clone of Raine, known as Savara Two, serving as the key to accessing the monolith. Inside, the brothers acquired Force abilities, and following Savara Two's demise at the hands of Luke Skywalker, the Qrephs engaged in combat against Skywalker, his sister, and Han Solo. While Marvid was obliterated by Skywalker's use of the Force, Craitheus was incinerated by Organa Solo, reducing the brothers to ashes and thwarting their ambitions of escaping the monolith and wreaking havoc throughout the galaxy.
