Marvid Qreph, an industrialist from Columi, collaborated for decades with his brother, Craitheus. A traumatic event in their youth, the attempted assassination of their mother that left her comatose, spurred them to relentlessly pursue the culprit. This quest led to the deaths of numerous individuals they held responsible for their mother's condition, and the utter ruin of everything those individuals cherished. During this period, Marvid and Craitheus leveraged their exceptional intellects to establish and expand a vast business conglomerate that dominated diverse sectors throughout the galaxy.
By the year 45 ABY, Marvid and his brother had significantly broadened their operations, accumulating wealth surpassing that of legitimate galactic empires, while orchestrating their illicit activities from the shadows. They established their base of operations in the Chiloon Rift, where they financed pirate groups to undermine a rival mining cooperative. Simultaneously, they built their primary headquarters, Base Prime, above an enigmatic monolith located deep within the Rift, aiming to harness Force abilities upon entering it, provided they had a Force-sensitive individual present. Their hired forces included biologically-engineered Nargons, Mandalorians under the leadership of Mirta Gev, and a mysterious mercenary named Savara Raine (who was actually Vestara Khai). Marvid developed a particular fondness for Raine, so much so that he secretly created a human-Columi clone of her, named Savara Two.
In their pursuit of galactic economic dominance, the brothers attempted to defraud Lando Calrissian of his asteroid mining refinery on Sarnus. Calrissian's refusal triggered a chain of events that drew him and his allies—the renowned Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, and Leia Organa Solo—into conflict with the Qreph brothers.
When the Millennium Falcon launched an assault on Base Prime, Marvid and Craitheus, the latter severely wounded, entered a space–time-warping gate adjacent to a monolith beneath Base Prime alongside Savara Two. There, they accepted the gift of the Force from mysterious shadow entities. However, they ultimately faced defeat at the hands of Skywalker and his sister. Marvid was disintegrated by Skywalker, while Organa Solo was responsible for Craitheus's demise.
