The CX-55 scatterblaster represented a specific scatterblaster design utilized by the Alazmec of Winsit. This group consisted of Alazmec cultists who were attracted to the Corvax Fen located on the planet of Mustafar. This particular blaster model featured a brown stock alongside a lengthy black barrel, complemented by areas of silver-toned paneling positioned near the front end and immediately before the trigger mechanism. Its projectiles consisted of yellow-colored blaster energy.
In the year 35 ABY, First Order military forces under the command of Supreme Leader Kylo Ren engaged in combat with the Alazmec within the fen, their objective being the acquisition of a Sith wayfinder. During this conflict, a minimum of two cultists employed CX-55 scatterblasters in their confrontation with Ren; however, these weapons proved ineffective against his lightsaber. He successfully redirected their blaster fire using his blade, subsequently employing it to kill both of the aforementioned cultists.
The CX-55 scatterblaster made its initial appearance in the 2019 release of Star Wars: Episode IX The Rise of Skywalker, a film belonging to the sequel trilogy. While the weapon itself was not identified by name within the film, its designation was later provided in the companion reference book titled Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker: The Visual Dictionary, authored by Pablo Hidalgo.
