Cyborg slicers of Yirt-4138-Grek-12

A squad of cybernetically-augmented computer experts was functioning within an espionage training complex dedicated to industry secrets. This facility was located on the asteroid Yirt-4138-Grek-12, during the year 22 BBY. Their mission was to conduct cybernetic enhancements and instruct numerous espionage operatives in the art of stealing information from the Corporate Alliance, a prominent member of the commerce guilds. The discovery of the base happened when one of its agents, Denlace Sachoore, was apprehended for data theft from the Alliance. The Alliance then resolved to eliminate the entire organization, resulting in a full-scale raid on the asteroid. Several NR-N99 Persuader-class droid enforcers subsequently assaulted the center, causing its destruction and killing all the computer experts inside.

History

The slicer team was exterminated by several NR-N99 Persuader-class droid enforcers.

In 22 BBY, amidst the Separatist Crisis, a cyborg slicer group, financed by unknown entities, operated from a clandestine compound situated on the isolated asteroid Yirt-4138-Grek-12 within the Fakir sector. This sector was under the control of the Corporate Alliance, a significant entity among the commerce guilds. Within this compound, the team provided training to espionage agents. They equipped them with starships and enhanced their capabilities through cybernetic surgeries. These operations were designed to facilitate the theft of crucial data from the Corporate Alliance's data repositories. However, Denlace Sachoore, one of the facility's agents, was apprehended while employed as a clerk for the Alliance. She was caught embezzling Alliance data within a vessel drive implanted in her cranium. Following interrogation by the Alliance's expeditors, her espionage activities were traced back to Yirt-4138-Grek-12 approximately a month later.

With the facility's exposure, the Corporate Alliance Directorate, led by Magistrate Passel Argente, decided to neutralize the base and its team, perceiving them as a threat to their financial interests. NR-N99 Persuader-class droid enforcers were transported to the asteroid and attacked the base, using their laser and missile weaponry. The structure was breached, causing depressurization, and twenty-five cyborgs perished inside. Magistrate Argente later reported these deaths in a holomessage to the Alliance's shareholders, and the event was also covered in an article by HoloNet News.

Organization

The team was composed of individuals with slicing expertise who had undergone cybernetic augmentation. Their Yirt-4138-Grek-12 compound housed various suites used for starship production, surgical procedures, and agent training. These illicit activities violated the laws of the Galactic Republic, the governing body of the galaxy, and were concealed by the organization's financial backers. Despite their innovative use of cybernetics, as demonstrated by the vessel drive, Denlace Sachoore's capture ultimately led to the group's demise. Because their location was within Alliance space, the raid that resulted in their deaths was considered lawful.

Behind the scenes

The team's existence was initially revealed in the in-universe HoloNet News Vol. 531 #48 article titled Corporate Alliance Attacks Slicer Compound. This article was part of the HoloNet News volume released on March 21, 2002, and was authored by Pablo Hidalgo and Paul Ens.
