A complete regiment, belonging to the Galactic Empire's Stormtrooper Corps, was stationed on Cymoon 1. This military force formed part of the Imperial defense forces protecting the moon in addition to the strategically important Weapons Factory Alpha. The aforementioned regiment was organized into several battalions and received assistance from a battle group which was active within the Cymoon system. The effectiveness of the regiment was diminished by communication issues among the many temporary, or "ad hoc" teams.
