On Exis Station, subsequent to the Great Sith War, a male individual named Dakar held the dual roles of port administrator and ion miner. He was active in the years following the conflict. Dakar not only spearheaded mining operations within the Teedio system, but also oversaw the hangar bay of the space station. Despite a somewhat rough and occasionally harsh manner, he valued the well-being of his crew and maintained a close friendship with the spacer Hoggon. During a Jedi conclave on the station in 3986 BBY, a Jedi apprentice named Vima Sunrider, driven by boredom, secretly joined Dakar's mining team on an expedition to a nearby star. Sunrider's lack of experience almost led to her demise when she became ensnared in a magnetic loop, nearly being pulled into the sun. However, Dakar chose not to risk his crew to save her. Fortunately, Tott Doneeta, a passing Jedi, rescued Sunrider.
In the wake of the Great Sith War, Dakar served as both a port administrator and an ion miner at Exis Station, a space station located within the Teedio system. He was active in the years following the conflict. As a leader among his mining colleagues, Dakar supervised mining expeditions to the neighboring star Teedio, piloting an ion mining ship during these ventures. Dakar's responsibilities also included directing incoming ships to their designated docking locations within the station's hangar bay. Over time, Dakar cultivated a bond of friendship with Hoggon, a Human spacer. In 3986 BBY, while a significant Jedi conclave was underway at Exis Station, Dakar led his team on a seemingly ordinary plasma mining mission. Unbeknownst to Dakar, Vima Sunrider, a Human Jedi apprentice who had slipped away from the Jedi Convocation due to tedium, had joined them on this occasion.
Dakar first suspected something was amiss when Sunrider's vessel veered from the formation, prompting the seasoned miner to scold her sharply via the comlink. Shortly thereafter, the inexperienced Sunrider found herself trapped in a magnetic loop, which threatened to drag her into the sun. Sunrider abandoned her ship in an escape pod, but Dakar declined to attempt a rescue, as he was unwilling to endanger his crew for such a perilous undertaking. As it transpired, Dakar's assistance was not required, as a passing vessel, piloted by Twi'lek Jedi Knight Tott Doneeta, attached a cable to Sunrider's hurtling escape pod and pulled her to safety. Following the Sunrider incident, Dakar resumed his duties in the docking bay at Exis Station. He soon encountered his longtime friend Hoggon, who had come to Exis Station to observe the Jedi conclave, which had been ongoing for several days. Hoggon, who possessed a strong interest in the Jedi Order, requested that Dakar direct him to a vantage point from which he could observe the proceedings. Dakar suggested an air shaft overlooking the gathering hall. Hoggon compensated Dakar with several coins for the use of his docking space, and the two friends then parted ways.
Dakar possessed a brusque demeanor and readily reprimanded those who made errors during his mining expeditions. Nevertheless, he prioritized the safety of his crew and refrained from placing them in unnecessary danger. Dakar shared a longstanding friendship with Hoggon, despite not comprehending the spacer's fascination with the Jedi Order. Dakar had white skin and black eyes, along with a set of prominent teeth.
Dakar made an appearance as a minor figure in Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi - Redemption, the concluding story arc of the Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi comic book series, authored by Kevin J. Anderson and published in 1998. To date, these constitute Dakar's sole appearances within Star Wars canon. He was featured in the first and second issues of the arc, where he was illustrated by Chris Gossett. In 2008, Dakar received an entry in The Complete Star Wars Encyclopedia.
