Darth Arctis, a male individual, held the title of Dark Lord of the Sith within the re-emerging Sith Empire. He also served as a member of the Dark Council during the era known as the Cold War.
During the Cold War period, the forces belonging to his fellow Council member, Darth Hadra—who oversaw the Sphere of Technology and governed Dromund Kaas—unearthed an age-old Sith religious site located just outside Kaas City and attempted to take possession of it. Arctis swiftly contested Hadra's claim, asserting that the shrine resided within the territory influenced by his own Sphere of Ancient Knowledge. Subsequently, he initiated "negotiations" with Hadra to determine who would control the shrine.
Following the Sith Lord [Darth Skotia]'s](/article/darth_skotia) demise under questionable conditions, and [Darth Thanaton]'s](/article/darth_thanaton) desire to reprimand Darth Zash, the prime suspect, Arctis chose to oppose Thanaton. He instead backed the Dark Council's decision to elevate Zash to the position previously held by Skotia.
In 3640 BBY, Thanaton gained a seat on the Dark Council following the unexpected passing of Arctis. The cause of his death remained a mystery, although suspicion largely fell upon Thanaton, who directly benefited from Arctis's demise.
