The clash within the Sith Sanctum represented a struggle for dominance between the Sith Lords Darth Skotia and Darth Zash. Under Zash's instructions, her apprentice Kallig confronted and ultimately eliminated Skotia within the confines of the Sith Sanctum located on Dromund Kaas.
Back in 3643 BBY, Skotia became aware of Darth Zash's endeavors to unlock the secrets held within an artifact belonging to Tulak Hord. In response, he dispatched Ortosin, one of his apprentices, along with two operatives, with the intention to assassinate her new apprentice on Korriban; however, they were unsuccessful. Upon the apprentice's arrival on Dromund Kaas, Skotia intercepted the Inquisitor at the spaceport, attempting to exert his influence through intimidation. This action greatly angered Zash. Aware that directly eliminating Skotia would cause unease among the Dark Council due to the power struggle it would create, she opted to send her apprentice, Kallig, to infiltrate Skotia's base, which was heavily defended by a force equivalent to an army.
After gathering a tablet that would compel Skotia's Trandoshan bodyguards, Skeesk and Skarsk, to turn against him, and acquiring a cyborg prototype disruptor capable of disabling individuals with extensive cybernetic enhancements, the Apprentice, accompanied by Khem Val, confronted Skotia in his private chambers. Skotia swiftly eliminated his bodyguards when they betrayed him, but the cyborg disruptor significantly weakened him, making him vulnerable to defeat. Skotia was overcome, his cybernetic enhancements proving to be a liability against the dark side, leaving him unable to withstand the powerful Inquisitor. With his final words, Skotia recognized that Zash had been meticulously planning his downfall for years, understanding that the Sith were inherently treacherous. He cautioned her apprentice, forewarning them that she would eventually betray them as well, before succumbing to his demise.
