Darth Skotia, whose name is pronounced either /ˈskoʊʃə/ or, less commonly, /skoˈteˈa/, was a Sith Lord of the Human male species during the time of the Great Galactic War. Hailing from the worlds controlled by the reconstituted Sith Empire, Skotia served the Sith Order as a Force-sensitive warrior. A significant portion of Skotia's body was replaced with cybernetic enhancements, including his right eye and numerous neural implants. Despite these augmentations, by the time of the Cold War between the Sith Empire and the Galactic Republic, Skotia had risen to the rank of Sith Lord within the Sphere of Ancient Knowledge, commanding a group of Trandoshan warriors sworn as his bodyguards. Operating under the command of Darth Thanaton, Skotia maintained offices within the Sith Sanctum of the Imperial Citadel on Dromund Kaas, the capital world, and oversaw the Dark Temple, an ancient Sith site. When Zash, a young and ambitious Sith apprentice newly assigned to the Sphere of Ancient Knowledge, arrived on Dromund Kaas, Skotia was stationed there. The forward-thinking Sith witch quickly developed a bitter rivalry with the cyborg Dark Lord, who, along with Thanaton, disapproved of Zash's disrespect for Sith traditions. Skotia actively tried to hinder her advancement, but the aspiring Sith Lady ultimately achieved Lordship and gained authority over Sith Acolyte training.
The animosity between Skotia and Zash persisted until approximately 3643 BBY, when Skotia discovered that Zash, weakened by the dark side of the Force, sought to use hidden power within the Dark Temple to attain immortality through a dangerous, ancient Force ritual. Skotia immediately forbade Zash from entering the Temple and ordered the assassination of her new apprentice, who had recently completed the trials on Korriban. However, Skotia's attempts to assassinate the apprentice failed, giving Zash the opportunity to use her new student to eliminate her old enemy. Despite Skotia's efforts to thwart Zash's plans, her apprentice overcame his obstacles and confronted the cyborg in his chambers within the Imperial Citadel. Although Skotia believed he could kill the apprentice, the young Sith managed to turn Skotia's Trandoshan guards against him and used a cyber neutralizer to disrupt his control over his cybernetic body parts. The apprentice defeated and killed the elder Sith, fulfilling Zash's plans and allowing her to gain more influence on Dromund Kaas as she pursued her goal of immortality.
In 3643 BBY, Skotia became aware of Zash's attempts to unlock the secrets held within an artifact belonging to Tulak Hord. Consequently, he dispatched Ortosin, one of his apprentices, along with two agents, to assassinate her new apprentice on Korriban, but their mission was unsuccessful. Upon the apprentice's arrival on Dromund Kaas, Skotia intercepted the Inquisitor at the spaceport, attempting to intimidate them. This action enraged Zash. Realizing that directly killing Skotia would be unwise due to potential repercussions from the Dark Council, she instead tasked her apprentice, Kallig, with infiltrating Skotia's base, which was heavily guarded by Skotia's forces.
After gathering a tablet that would turn Skotia's Trandoshan bodyguards, Skeesk and Skarsk, against him, as well as a cyborg prototype disruptor capable of disabling individuals who are at least 50% cyborg, the Apprentice confronted Skotia in his chambers, accompanied by Khem Val and the Sith Lord. The apprentice killed the bodyguards after they turned on Skotia, and the cyborg disruptor significantly weakened him. The cyborg was defeated, his reliance on cybernetics making him vulnerable to the dark side, leaving him no match for the powerful Inquisitor. With his dying breath, Skotia realized that Zash had been plotting his downfall for years, and he recognized the ever-present treachery within the Sith Order. He warned Zash's apprentice that she would eventually betray them before he succumbed to death.
The news of Skotia's demise did not go unnoticed. Darth Thanaton accused Zash of murdering Skotia but lacked sufficient evidence, as Zash could plausibly claim to have been in the Nexus Room Cantina at the time. Subsequently, Zash was promoted to Darth and assumed Skotia's position and assets.

To have earned the title of "Darth," Skotia must have possessed considerable power, surpassing that of a typical Sith Lord. Even Zash acknowledged that defeating him without the tools her apprentice acquired would be nearly impossible. When his bodyguards betrayed him, he displayed remarkable telekinesis, easily dispatching them. He also demonstrated proficiency in Force rage, employing it during his duel with the apprentice. Despite being significantly weakened by the apprentice's weaponry, he still posed a challenge in the ensuing lightsaber duel, but ultimately he was defeated and killed.
Many Sith, particularly Darth Zash, viewed Skotia as a brutal and malevolent cyborg.
However, upon inheriting Skotia's chambers and assets after his death, Zash was surprised to find extensive research and knowledge within his possessions. She had not realized his intellectual depth and admitted that she regretted his death due to his exceptional curiosity and pursuit of knowledge.
