Darth Sakia represents a fabricated Dark Lord of the Sith (who was female) conceived by Jedi Master Lene Kostana. Kostana's intention was to prompt Jedi Initiate Dooku to recall a Force vision he experienced upon infiltrating the Archive of Forbidden Artifacts, a repository of artifacts housed within the Jedi Temple on the planet Coruscant. Approximately around 88 BBY, Dooku engaged Kostana in a duel, wrongly believing that the Master was secretly a Sith Lord. During their combat, Kostana remarked that Darth Sakia, much like Dooku, was a proficient swordswoman who wielded a lightsaber featuring a curved hilt. When Jedi Grand Master Yoda arrived at the contemplation balcony where the duel was taking place, he reassured Dooku of Sakia's fictional nature.
Subsequently, Dooku recounted these events to his sister, Jenza, via a holo-letter. Around 23 BBY, Dooku entrusted several data disks containing his messages to Jenza to Asajj Ventress, his newly appointed Sith assassin, for her investigation to discover his sister's whereabouts; Ventress then listened to the holo-disk that included the mention of Sakia.
The initial reference to Darth Sakia appeared in a flashback sequence within the audio drama Dooku: Jedi Lost, authored by Cavan Scott and released on April 30, 2019. The precise spelling of Darth Sakia was officially confirmed through the audio drama's script release on October 1 of the same year.
