During the Republic Era period, the Pijali palace's library and the regent's office situated on the Inner Rim planet Pijal housed multiple data solids, which Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn deemed to be antiquated by the time. Jinn and his Padawan Obi-Wan Kenobi observed these devices within the palace's library in 40 BBY. Shortly thereafter, the Jedi duo observed a number of data solids along with holoprojectors and scanners arranged in tall stacks when they went to the regent's office.
