The vessel referred to as the Deadweight was a Conductor-class short-range transport of the Galactic Republic, with Carth Onasi serving as its pilot during the period of the Mandalorian Wars. It was initially designated as CXB-560.
In the early stages of the conflict, the Deadweight was stationed at Camp Three located on the planet Serroco. Zayne Carrick, a fugitive Padawan, secretly boarded the craft to communicate with Admiral Karath, aiming to provide a warning about an imminent assault by the Mandalorians.
As the Mandalorians launched their attack on Karath's vessel, the Courageous, Zayne, who found himself imprisoned within, employed the Force to dislodge the cell's locking mechanisms situated near the hangar. This act facilitated his escape, along with a small number of surviving crew members, from the ship's destruction aboard the Deadweight. While en route to Telerath with the intention of delivering Zayne to his former mentor, Lucien Draay, the crew received an invitation from Arkoh Adasca within the Omonoth system. The Deadweight made its way to the hangar of the Arkanian Legacy and was subsequently utilized by Carth Onasi, Saul Karath, and Dallan Morvis to evacuate the vessel following the First Battle of Omonoth.
Upon Carth's assignment to lead the Lance Squadron, the Deadweight was placed in the hangar bay of Karath's new flagship, the Swiftsure. Later, Zayne Carrick and [Marn Hierogryph](/article/marn_hierogryph] commandeered the Deadweight, which had been stolen by Slyssk, to break through the blockade of Coruscant and land on the planet's surface.
