Doda Bodonawieedo

Doda Bodonawieedo was a Rodian musician of the male persuasion. Initially, he performed at Chalmun's Spaceport Cantina, but his tenure there ended when he was dismissed and replaced by the ensemble known as Figrin D'an and the Modal Nodes; his departure was marked by protest. Some years later, specifically four after the Battle of Yavin, he resurfaced as a member of the Max Rebo Band at Jabba's Palace. During that time, he, along with his bandmates, played the tune "Jedi Rocks" for the Hutt. The Hutt requested a repeat performance, but during the second rendition, he cast his slave Oola into the rancor pit as she spurned his unwanted advances. Bodonawieedo and the band ceased their performance as Oola was eaten by the rancor, and they subsequently witnessed the arrival of Princess Leia Organa, who was disguised as the bounty hunter Boushh, accompanied by the Wookiee Chewbacca held captive.

Doda Bodonawieedo's initial appearance occurred in the Special Edition re-release of Star Wars: Episode VI Return of the Jedi in the year 1997. His name was first established within the Star Wars Legends Power of the Force action figure collection produced by Hasbro, which debuted in 1998. The canon status of the name was affirmed by Music in the Star Wars Galaxy: The Modal Nodes vs. The Max Rebo Band, an article on StarWars.com penned by Amy Ratcliffe and released in 2015.
