Donovan was a CorSec officer and pilot of the male Human species, existing during the era of the Galactic Civil War.
At the time of the Battle of Yavin, Donovan held the rank of captain within the ranks of the Corellian Security Force stationed on Corellia.
In the year 1 ABY, Captain Donovan found himself transporting weaponry to the local CorSec forces located on Tyrena. During this mission, his vessel was seized by a criminal organization known as the Deflarians. As a result, Donovan was taken into custody and confined within the Deflarian bunker. The Deflarians orchestrated a cover-up by intentionally crashing a ship identical to Donovan's, aiming to conceal their theft of the cargo. Inspector Cora, an agent of CorSec, was assigned by Captain Jark to spearhead the investigation into these events. Cora then contracted a spacer who successfully located the hidden bunker. The spacer infiltrated the bunker and discovered the imprisoned Captain Donovan. To secure Donovan's release, the spacer eliminated Vinros, numerous Deflarian subordinates, and a Deflarian underboss. Subsequently, Captain Jark uncovered evidence indicating that Donovan had been betrayed by a CorSec agent named Jori, who had divulged Donovan's flight itinerary to the Deflarians.
Donovan existed as a non-player character featured in the 2003 video game Star Wars Galaxies, a massively multiplayer online roleplaying game. The game was developed by Sony Online Entertainment, published by LucasArts, and was active until its shutdown on December 15, 2011. Donovan's inclusion in the game occurred with the release of "Publish 28," which went live on April 26, 2006.
