Gunboat

A gunboat represented a class of starship that the Galactic Empire employed. Within this category, the assault gunboat and the escort gunboat existed as specific gunboat types. It is known that an Imperial battle group, stationed within the Ilum system, made use of several gunboats.

Various political entities situated in the Unknown Regions incorporated gunboats into their respective fleets. For example, the Lioaoin Regime made use of a particular gunboat design, as was the Nikardun Destiny with the Nighthunter gunboat. The Watith species also possessed a unique type of gunboat, which was operated remotely.
