Droid vision phoropter

In the year 35 ABY, within the Thieves' Quarter of Kijimi City on the planet Kijimi, the droidsmith Babu Frik had positioned a specially designed droid vision phoropter on a table within his workshop. He was in the process of performing a complete redacted memory bypass on the protocol droid C-3PO. Not long after the bypass concluded, the Final Order brought about the destruction of the entire planet Kijimi, though Frik successfully evacuated before this occurred. The bespoke machine had a gray foundation, complete with multiple switches and buttons, and a rod extending upwards from the foundation that held a diverse collection of lenses of different dimensions.

Behind the scenes

The droid vision phoropter made its initial debut in the 2019 sequel trilogy movie, Star Wars: Episode IX The Rise of Skywalker. Its identification was simultaneous in the reference book accompanying the film, titled Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker: The Visual Dictionary, authored by Pablo Hidalgo.
