The superlaser facility on Dubrillion, an Imperial superweapon, was located within the main ocean of that planet, Dubrillion.
This Imperial superlaser facility, situated on Dubrillion, was designed to be impervious to aerial attacks, ensuring that its critical components remained protected from bombardment. The facility incorporated three shielded relay dishes that formed part of the laser's targeting mechanism. However, the superlaser possessed sufficient accuracy to strike targets even if these relay dishes were not operational. The superlaser derived its power from a triple-turbine engine; its destruction would cause the facility's destruction. Various TIE fighters, missile droids, and Imperial submarines were responsible for guarding it.
The superlaser facility was designed with three landing platforms surrounding the central area, where the superlaser bowl was located. All Terrain Scout Transports and stormtrooper squads equipped with E-Web heavy repeating blasters defended the platforms. Each landing platform had an elevator that went down to the lower level, which was circular and included transport tracks and overhead conveyors. Walkways connected the lower level to the turbine area.
During the time of the Galactic Civil War, the facility played a role in a plan to annihilate a Rebel Alliance convoy in 3 ABY. The Empire lured the fleet to Destrillion by providing Rebel intelligence with misleading information about an Imperial outpost in that system. To reach Destrillion, the fleet would have to travel through the Dubrillion system.
Rogue Squadron spearheaded an assault on the outpost during the subsequent ambush. After disabling the superlaser relay dishes using a Y-wing, Wedge Antilles infiltrated the facility using a captured AT-ST and then employed an AT-AT to obliterate the internal power nodes, resulting in the installation's destruction.
The superlaser is featured in the 2003 video game Star Wars: Rogue Squadron III: Rebel Strike.
