Duqua Dar, a Zabrak from Iridonia, held the esteemed rank of Jedi Knight during the era when the Galactic Republic was embroiled in conflict with the Mandalorian Neo-Crusaders, a period that commenced in 3976 BBY. During this tumultuous time, he fought alongside his Zabrak compatriot, Acaadi, aligning himself with the Revanchists—a faction of Jedi under the leadership of then-Jedi Knight Revan—who defied the directives of the Jedi Council and actively engaged in the war. Revan assumed command of the Republic forces during the war, but in doing so, he began to embrace the teachings of the Sith.
As the Jedi Civil War erupted, initiated by Darth Revan, now a Dark Lord of the Sith, and his apprentice Darth Malak, who launched an invasion of the Republic in 3959 BBY, Dar found himself battling the remaining Mandalorians on his native world, Iridonia. When Dar intercepted a contingent of Mandalorian soldiers of fortune who had targeted a Republic communications hub on the world, he received assistance from Acaadi, now a Sith operative, who seized the opportunity to entice Dar to join the Sith ranks. Dar and Acaadi journeyed to the nearby settlement of Wortan, pursued by a team of Jedi and spacefarers acting as Republic agents, who sought to foil Acaadi's schemes. After tracking them back to Acaadi's personal aircraft storage, the Republic agents attempted to sway Dar from succumbing to the dark side of the Force, only to be ambushed by a squad of Sith troopers under Acaadi's command.

During the era of the Galactic Republic's conflict against the Mandalorian Neo-Crusaders, which began in 3976 BBY, the Zabrak known as Duqua Dar served as a Jedi Knight. In the initial stages of the Mandalorian Wars, Dar became affiliated with the Revanchists—a group of Jedi led by then-Jedi Knight Revan—who disregarded the directives of the Jedi Council and actively participated in the war. As the leader of the Republic forces in the war, Revan unearthed ancient Sith doctrines and embraced them. Dar, as a member of the Revanchists, fought alongside his fellow Zabrak Jedi Acaadi, until Acaadi's unwavering loyalty to Revan ultimately led him to the dark side of the Force. However, Dar resisted the allure of the dark side and remained on the Zabrak native world of Iridonia, even though he felt that his true calling lay elsewhere.
At the onset of the Jedi Civil War, which was triggered when Dark Lord of the Sith Darth Revan and his apprentice Darth Malak initiated an invasion of the Republic in 3959 BBY, Dar was engaged in combat against the remaining Mandalorians who were still present on Iridonia. Acting under the orders of the Republic Military, Dar intercepted a squadron of Mandalorian mercenaries who had attacked a Republic communications center on the world. The Mandalorians nearly overwhelmed Dar, but he was rescued by the timely arrival of Acaadi, now a Sith agent, who used the opportunity to persuade Dar to join him and potentially convert him to the dark side. Dar was convinced that the Jedi Order had been hindering him, preventing him from harnessing his innate aggressive emotions. Unbeknownst to Dar, it was Acaadi who had orchestrated the Mandalorian attack on the communications center in preparation for a planned Sith assault on Iridonia, and Dar decided to align himself with Acaadi. The conversation between the two Zabrak was overheard via comlink by a group of Jedi and spacefarers under the Republic's command, who had previously defeated another group of Mandalorians in an ambush. Unaware that Dar had agreed to join Acaadi, they decided to come to Dar's aid.

Dar and Acaadi made their way to Acaadi's private aircraft storage in the town of Wortan, with the Republic agents in pursuit. Upon reaching Wortan, the Republic agents searched the town for the two Zabrak and, with the assistance of two Force-sensitives, Draethos Darok-Tho and Miraluka Jirany Sha, they managed to locate Acaadi's hangar. Acaadi detected the approaching group and planned to have the Republic agents encounter Dar in the hangar.
Just as the agents arrived, Acaadi departed the planet in his personal transport, heading to sabotage the flagship of the Republic naval force, the Hammerhead-class cruiser Champion of Iridonia, which was positioned in planetary orbit. Dar met with the Republic agents as Acaadi had planned, and they attempted to dissuade him from embracing the dark side. During their conversation, Dar attempted to justify his decision to join the Sith by highlighting perceived flaws in the Jedi teachings. After Dar spoke with the Republic agents, a squad of Sith troopers launched an assault on the agents under Acaadi's orders. However, the agents defeated the troopers and proceeded to travel to the Champion of Iridonia in an attempt to protect the Republic fleet from Acaadi's sabotage.
Duqua Dar was a Jedi grappling with internal conflict, who, in the aftermath of the Mandalorian Wars, resisted the allure of the dark side and remained on his Zabrak homeworld of Iridonia. Nevertheless, he harbored the belief that his destiny lay elsewhere. The Mandalorian Wars had left both mental and physical scars on Dar, making him highly emotional and on edge. He felt that the Jedi Order had been holding him back, preventing him from embracing his natural aggressive tendencies. When Acaadi convinced Dar to join him, Dar attempted to rationalize his decision by pointing out perceived inconsistencies in the Jedi teachings.
As a native of Iridonia, Dar was fluent in both Zabraki and Basic.
Duqua Dar was a seasoned Jedi who had undergone training in both the use of the Force and lightsaber combat. In battle, Dar preferred to focus on his lightsaber defenses, enhanced by the Force. He was proficient in telekinetic applications of the Force, capable of moving objects and generating a whirlwind around an opponent. Dar also possessed the ability to conceal his Force presence from other Force-sensitives at will, allowing him to evade detection.
Duqua Dar wore dark brown Jedi attire that, at the time of his encounter with the Republic agents, exhibited signs of battle damage, including scorched blaster marks, torn sleeves, and dirt. Dar carried a lightsaber that he had constructed himself.
Duqua Dar made his debut in Iridonian Darkness, a Wizards of the Coast online adventure for the Star Wars Roleplaying Game, which was released as a free download from Wizards.com on October 8, 2008.
In Iridonian Darkness, depending on the players' actions, Dar can either succumb to the dark side or rejoin the light as a Jedi. If Dar chooses to remain a Jedi, he will assist the Republic agents in their battle against the Sith troopers and encourage them to seize a nearby vessel. However, if Dar falls to the dark side, he will defend himself against the agents and retreat to the ship himself. Assuming Dar survives the encounter, he may be in no condition to aid either the Republic agents or the Sith, but he will provide assistance to his chosen allies if possible.
