In the year 3642 BBY, to combat the Sith Empire, General Durant of the Galactic Republic positioned his battalion on the planet of Taris for combat. Durant's location was discovered, and he was assassinated by Darth Baras's apprentice, who exploited the battalion's maneuvers.
