Durant was a General in the Galactic Republic, a Human male who participated in the Galactic War against the opposing Sith Empire.
Sometime between the years of 3665 and 3653 BBY, after his promotion to general within the Republic High Command, Durant fought alongside Sergeant Fideltin Rusk during the Geonosis campaign.
During the Invasion of Taris which occurred in 3642 BBY, Durant played a role as a member of the War Trust as they attempted to overcome the Sith. The War Trust developed a new technology called Siantide, with the belief that it would surpass any Imperial technology. Later, the Empire targeted him, along with the other members of the War Trust, as part of Darth Baras' Plan Zero. Generals Minst and Frelka were the initial targets, hunted down and killed by a powerful and cunning Sith Warrior, who was Darth Baras' apprentice. When the Warrior managed to get inside Durant's base, the General proudly displayed his prototype blaster, powered by Siantide technology. Durant, deciding to put on a demonstration, ordered his troops to initiate an attack. However, they failed to appreciate the power of the Sith, who proceeded to slaughter them all. Taking a mortal wound, Durant vowed that the Warrior would not defeat General Faraire. The Warrior mocked him, stating that his death was meaningless and promised to destroy everything he had built. Durant subsequently died.
