The Echani Ritual Brand was a specific type of double-bladed sword employed by Echani Firedancers in ritualistic battles. The Echani utilized this blade in what appeared to be a dance-like display of graceful evasions and strikes. Back in 3956 BBY, specifically during the period of the Jedi Civil War that saw conflict between the Galactic Republic and the Sith Empire, Kebla Yurt, a Human female who managed an Equipment Emporium within the Upper City on the Outer Rim planet of Taris, possessed an Echani Ritual Brand. Unlike much of Yurt's other inventory, the Sith did not seize the weapon during their occupation of the ecumenopolis, and thus it was available for purchase in her store.
This particular weapon was made up of two Cortosis-weave blades, which were joined together in the middle by a purple hilt. It had the ability to withstand the power of a lightsaber, and its price was two hundred and eighty credits.
The first appearance of the Echani Ritual Brand was in Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, a video game from 2003 that was created by BioWare. Kebla Yurt, a non-player character, sells this weapon, but interacting with her is optional and has no impact on the story or your character's alignment.
