The Eiattu pirates, alternatively known as TIE Pirates, constituted a pirate band of Imperial starfighter pilots who had established a hidden base on the planet of Radix, situated within the Abraxas system, following the Battle of Endor. These pirates launched multiple attacks on New Republic freighters and convoys, viewing them as intruders within their home system, while utilizing Radix as a strategic depot for ship refueling and rearmament.
This group came into being in 4 ABY in the aftermath of the debacle at Endor and was under the command of Lieutenant Harme Kiela. Later, during a battle between the TIE Pirates and New Republic forces, Kine, a former Imperial Navy captain, betrayed the pirate group.
Subsequent to Lando Calrissian's mission to Radix, the New Republic First Battle Group engaged and annihilated the pirates on Abraxas.
Jason Fry verified on the Jedi Council Forums that the Eiattu pirates, as referenced in The Essential Guide to Warfare, are the same pirates featured in Lando's Commandos, and that the Battle of Abraxas is a consequence of Lando's mission.
