The Elegos A'Kla was an Imperial-class Star Destroyer that belonged to both the New Republic Defense Fleet and later the Galactic Alliance Navy. This vessel received its designation in honor of Elegos A'Kla, a Caamasi Senator who died for their beliefs. Throughout the concluding phases of the Yuuzhan Vong War, the ship was a key participant in several battles. For the majority of its wartime service, it functioned as the flagship under the command of General Garm Bel Iblis.
The Elegos A'Kla was finished on Coruscant in 27 ABY and belonged to a collection of Star Destroyers that were named to commemorate noteworthy figures from the New Republic. In addition to its sister ship, the Mon Mothma, it was among the initial Imperial-class Star Destroyers equipped with gravity well projectors. These redesigned projectors consumed less energy and had a more efficient design, doing away with the distinctive spheres that were typical of the Interdictor cruiser.
