The Endeavor, a colony vessel utilized by the Arkanians, embarked on a journey in 1 ABY carrying one hundred souls towards a new world. Their voyage was disrupted when Imperial Commander Rezi Soresh, a defector from the Empire who had constructed an outpost in the Outer Rim of the galaxy, ambushed and seized control of the ship. Soresh transported the captured individuals to his base located on a barren moon, intending to use them as live bait to ensnare Rebel Alliance pilot Luke Skywalker by threatening their lives.
Upon Skywalker's arrival, Soresh deployed an impostor to meet him initially. However, Han Solo, Skywalker's comrade, blasted the impostor. Skywalker, along with his compatriots, then advanced toward the compound with the goal of liberating the captives, only to trigger a series of mines that erupted in chaos. A colonist, feigning injury, seized Skywalker and used a Force pike to overpower him, revealing himself to be Soresh. Soresh then imprisoned the remaining Rebels within his outpost as he attempted to brainwash Skywalker. Soresh also devised a scheme to draw both the Rebel Fleet and Imperial leader Darth Vader to his moon, intending to eliminate these obstacles to his ambitions. Utilizing his resources, Soresh procured resonance torpedoes with the intention of obliterating the system's star.
As the opposing fleets arrived, Skywalker turned against Soresh and his drugged bodyguards. Soresh managed to escape, but only after launching the resonance torpedoes. As the star began its catastrophic collapse, the fleets retreated, enabling Skywalker and his allies to save the surviving hostages. The hostages made their escape aboard their ship just before the supernova consumed the system.
The ship's name and its origins were first detailed in Rebel Force: Uprising, a 2010 book by Alex Wheeler. Within the story, the colonists were not explicitly identified as Arkanian, but were instead described simply as "men" and "women." The ship also received mention in the 2012 reference book titled The Essential Reader's Companion.
