"Escape from Mos Shuuta" was one of a pair of roleplaying scenarios included within the Star Wars: Edge of the Empire: Beginner Game starter set, which was published by Fantasy Flight Games on December 14, 2012. This adventure introduced the characters 41-VEX, Lowhhrick, Oskara, and Pash. The Beginner Game also provided instructions for downloading two character folios. The stories within those folios converged right before "Escape from Mos Shuuta," and the characters appeared in the follow-up adventure, "The Long Arm of the Hutt," where Mathus and Sasha joined the original four characters.
This adventure unfolds in Mos Shuuta, a small settlement located on the desert planet of Tatooine. Mos Shuuta is built atop a high, rocky cliff, surrounded by an expansive desert landscape in all directions. As the narrative begins, the player characters (PCs) are trying to evade the forces of Mos Shuuta's ruler, Teemo the Hutt. Each PC has angered Teemo the Hutt for different reasons, which are detailed in their respective character folios. To escape the planet and Teemo the Hutt, the PCs must steal a ship and fly to safety. Fortunately, they will have the opportunity to do just that by stealing a ship called the Krayt Fang from a Trandoshan known as Trex.
