A lightsaber with a green blade served as the unique weapon of Even Piell, a Jedi Master, throughout the Clone Wars. To compensate for the Lannik Jedi Master's smaller stature, which would have made using a lightsaber of standard size difficult, it was made shorter than what was typical, and its hilt possessed a chrome-like shine.
As a member of the Jedi High Council and a General during the Clone Wars, Master Piell wielded this green-bladed lightsaber. Following a mission in which he obtained the coordinates for a secret hyperspace lane known as the Nexus Route, Piell's Jedi cruiser was ambushed by a Separatist fleet, and droidekas overwhelmed him on his ship, leading to his capture. He was then imprisoned in the Citadel, a facility on Lola Sayu originally designed to contain Jedi who might succumb to the dark side, where he was subjected to torture in order to extract the hyperspace route information. However, a Republic strike team, led by Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi, arrived to liberate him, with Kenobi giving Piell back his lightsaber. During the escape, Piell employed his lightsaber on multiple occasions, destroying a probe droid and several crab droids. He sustained fatal injuries from an [anooba], and before his death, he entrusted his portion of the coordinates to Ahsoka Tano. His lightsaber was subsequently returned to the Jedi Temple.
