Feral, a Zabrak hailing from Dathomir and identified as male, belonged to the Nightbrothers. This group of warriors answered to the Nightsisters, a clan of witches native to the planet of Dathomir. He was the younger sibling of both Savage Opress and Darth Maul, and the offspring of the Nightsister leader, Mother Talzin. During the period known as the Clone Wars, Feral was chosen by the Nightsister Asajj Ventress to serve as her champion in her quest for revenge on her former Sith Master, Count Dooku. Although Feral managed to survive the trials thanks to Savage's assistance, Savage was ultimately selected as the champion. Soon after, as a test of loyalty, Talzin commanded Savage to eliminate Feral.

Born on the planet Dathomir, located in the Outer Rim Territories, sometime after 54 BBY, Feral was the son of Mother Talzin, the leader of the Nightsister clan of Dathomirian witches. As the youngest of three siblings, Feral's elder brothers were Maul and Savage Opress. Around 40 BBY, Darth Sidious, a Sith Lord, took Maul from Talzin, having initially promised to make her his Sith apprentice. Talzin vowed to avenge herself against the Sith, and Savage grew up unaware of his other brother's existence.
Growing up without their brother, Savage and Feral completed the necessary rites to become members of the Nightbrothers, a group of male Dathomirian warriors who were subservient to the Nightsisters. They resided in the Nightbrother village, where they underwent training. As part of the clan led by Brother Viscus, Savage eventually rose to a leadership position and shared his responsibilities with Feral, whom he looked after and protected.
In 20 BBY, amidst the Clone Wars between the Galactic Republic and the Confederacy of Independent Systems, Nightsister Asajj Ventress came to the Nightbrothers seeking a champion. This champion would be granted enhanced strength and power through magick, assisting her in her pursuit of vengeance against her former master, Count Dooku. Several Nightbrothers were chosen to participate in tests designed to identify Ventress's champion.
Feral managed to survive all three tests, largely due to Savage's help. Despite failing the final challenge, Savage pleaded for mercy on his brother's behalf, and Feral was spared. Savage was chosen as the champion, and Ventress enhanced his strength and power, making him a match for a Jedi Knight. Shortly after, the Nightsisters took Feral prisoner and presented him to his brother, with the intention that Savage would kill him as a demonstration of loyalty and strength. Witnessing Savage's swollen muscles and the rage induced by Talzin's magicks, Feral looked up at his brother in shock. He attempted to appeal to Savage's love for him, but his brother's mind had been corrupted by the Nightsister magick. Disgusted by Feral's perceived weakness, Savage ignored his pleas. At Ventress's command, and with only a brief hesitation, Savage seized Feral and used his newfound strength to break his brother's neck, ending his life and passing his final test.
Feral, a Dathomirian Zabrak male, stood at a height of 1.86 meters (6 feet, 1 inch), with yellow [eyes](/article/eye] and yellow skin adorned with brown tattoos. He was the younger brother of both Savage Opress and Maul. Feral possessed a reckless and arrogant nature, often dismissing Savage's warnings and considering himself a vigilant warrior. However, he quickly became aware of his combat deficiencies during his initial encounter with Asajj Ventress. Throughout the Selection process, Savage consistently protected Feral, but Feral's dependence on Savage ultimately led to his demise, as he was killed by Savage's bare hands after displaying weakness.
Feral was a skilled and formidable warrior, proficient in martial arts. His agility played a key role in his survival for the majority of the Selection, enabling him to evade the weapons of Ventress and other competitors, as well as quickly navigate the ledges during the final challenge.
Feral made his debut in "Monster," which was the thirteenth episode of the third season of the Star Wars: The Clone Wars television series. This episode was released on January 14, 2011. Dee Bradley Baker provided the voice for Feral.
