Ferentina

Ferentina, a town, was established along the Andrevea River's edge on the planet of Naboo. Its location was within a mountain passage, positioned along a road that diverged from a tunnel it traversed. Adjacent to the riverbank was a security hangar, designed to accommodate a diverse range of vehicles. Not far away in the canyon stood the enigmatic Devils tower, a notable landmark. During the Invasion of Naboo, Trade Federation droid bombers obliterated the town. Lieutenant Gavyn Sykes of the Royal Naboo Security Forces happened to be present in the vicinity at the time of the assault.

Description

The Andrevea River flowed past Ferentina, with a constructed wall serving as a barrier against the river. The town itself occupied two levels of a hillside, nestled within a mountain pass. A bridge spanned the Andrevea River nearby, facilitating a road that emerged from a tunnel and branched throughout the town. Residential buildings were spread across the landscape, and a central plaza featured a clock tower. A security hangar, designed to house aquatic, land-based, and aerial vehicles, was also situated along the river's edge. A canyon passage nearby led northward to Devils tower, a mysterious landmark, and other ancient ruins.

History

The town is destroyed by the Trade Federation forces.

In 32 BBY during the Invasion of Naboo, Ferentina, then acting as a haven for Naboo civilians, was targeted and razed by the Trade Federation Droid Army. Two Seraph-class urban landspeeders within the town were immobilized by a collapsed tower. Lieutenant Gavyn Sykes of the Royal Naboo Security Forces was in transit at the time, piloting a captured Federation gunboat and leading a convoy of civilians he had rescued from the Trade Federation. The convoy found itself cornered near Ferentina after the bridge over the river was subjected to bombing. Sykes and the convoy sought refuge in the security hangar to change vehicles.

Subsequently, Sykes successfully extracted the two stranded speeders from behind the fallen tower and guided the convoy survivors to a concealed location within the neighboring mountain pass.

Behind the scenes

Ferentina makes an appearance in a mission featured in the 2000 video game Star Wars: Episode I: Battle for Naboo. The mission concludes in failure if all houseboats or speeders are destroyed. The mission presents the player with an optional rescue scenario, where two speeders are trapped behind a collapsed tower. While not essential for victory, rescuing the speeders contributes to the "friendlies saved" score. This article operates under the assumption that the player chooses to intervene.
