Ferroda

Ferroda, a male Jedi Master of the Jedi Order, also held the rank of General within the Grand Army of the Republic during the Clone Wars, serving both the Order and the Galactic Republic. During the events of Order 66, he met his end at the hands of the Force-sensitive clone trooper known as X2 on the world of Cato Neimoidia.

Biography

X2 takes a stand to defend X1 from Ferroda during Order 66.

Being Force-sensitive, Ferroda underwent training in the ways of the Force under the guidance of the Jedi Order, eventually achieving the status of Jedi Master after creating a lightsaber with a green blade. When the Clone Wars began between the Republic and the Confederacy of Independent Systems, Master Ferroda assumed the role of General in the Grand Army of the Republic and was tasked with overseeing the clone troopers stationed on Tatooine. While supervising training on this desert planet, Ferroda became familiar with the Force-sensitive clone twins X1 and X2 when the Separatists launched an attack on Tatooine. The clones successfully defeated the droid forces of the Separatists, repelling the Separatist leadership and securing the world by the end of the battle.

As the conflict continued, Master Ferroda was reassigned to Cato Neimoidia, serving under the command of High Council member Plo Koon. During the ongoing battles, Supreme Chancellor Palpatine of the Republic, who was secretly a Sith Lord, initiated Contingency Order 66, which led to the clones turning against the Jedi in an attempt to eliminate them. During the fighting, Ferroda was ambushed and encountered X1 and X2 once more. X1 attempted to kill Ferroda but was wounded by his lightsaber. Enraged, X2 attacked Ferroda, trapping the blue-skinned Jedi within a Neimoidian structure and ultimately killing him.

Legacy

Following Master Ferroda's demise, his executioner, X2, came to regret his decision to obey orders and severed his ties with the newly established Galactic Empire. After a period of hiding, X2 eventually joined the Alliance to Restore the Republic during the Galactic Civil War after being discovered on Dantooine by General Rahm Kota.

Behind the scenes

The character of Master Ferroda was initially created for the cancelled Star Wars: Battlefront III developed by Free Radical Design. He was later incorporated into the 2009 video game Star Wars Battlefront: Elite Squadron. The game does not specify his species, but his blue skin and yellow markings bear a striking resemblance to the Pantoran species (particularly Notluwiski Papanoida). This was further supported in 2021 by Rich May, a programmer who worked on Elite Squadron, who stated that while they didn't have official confirmation regarding his race, the original textures did feature the distinctive yellow markings characteristic of a Pantoran.
