During the Galactic Civil War period, this remote planet was the location of Spindrift Station, an Imperial installation. In the year 3 ABY, a Rebel squadron utilizing modified TIE starfighters launched an assault on Spindrift Station; the capture of the station was executed to acquire navigational data related to an Imperial fleet transporting an unusual being known as a teezl.
The world of Spindrift was featured in Star Wars 60, which was written by David Michelinie, with illustrations by Walter Simonson, and made available to the public in 1982.
