The Short-Range Evacuation Vehicle of the First Order, abbreviated as SREV, was a kind of escape pod that could be found on the Resurgent-class Star Destroyers. These vehicles were sufficiently spacious to hold one First Order Fleet Transport.
After their vessel was seized upon departing Batuu, a team of Resistance recruits, along with Lieutenant Bek, once made their escape from a destroyer utilizing SREVs. During a battle between the forces of the First Order and Resistance ships commanded by Poe Dameron, they made their getaway. The pods ultimately crash-landed at the Resistance's base, situated within the ancient ruins on Batuu.
The Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance attraction marked the debut of the First Order Short-Range Evacuation Vehicle. It employs a pair of distinct ride systems to produce the attraction's climax, consisting of a motion simulator platform contained within a freefall drop elevator. The Fleet Transport carrying guests is parked within the elevator, which then descends to the ground floor. Afterwards, the flight simulator activates, generating the action sequence for the return journey to Batuu. These vehicles bear a resemblance to an Imperial escape pod that appeared in the 2017 video game Star Wars Battlefront II.
