Between 34 ABY and 35 ABY, the Artiodac chef Strono Tuggs embarked on a culinary journey across the galaxy; during this time, he visited Fondor and endeavored to focus on the world's positive aspects, rather than its history as a starship manufacturer and repair location for the Galactic Empire, an entity he deemed malevolent.
During his time there, Tuggs came across the ice cream, which he found to be both delightful and rich. He later shared a recipe for it in The Ultimate Cookbook, his third cookbook, which saw publication in 35 ABY. Within the pages of the book, he declared that Fondor Ice served as an excellent conclusion to any meal, even suggesting that it represented a positive step towards Fondor's redemption.
The recipe for Fondor Ice was developed for the 2023 release of Star Wars: The Ultimate Cookbook, a recipe collection penned by Jenn Fujikawa and Marc Sumerak. The out-of-universe recipe for the dessert incorporates ingredients such as coconut cream, coconut milk, granulated sugar, ube extract, vanilla extract, and chopped mango.
