Forge Guardian

During the period of conflict known as the Cold War, which occurred between the Republic and the Sith Empire after its reformation, a jurgoran made its home within a canyon located on Tython, a planet situated in the Deep Core. This particular jurgoran, characterized by its green and yellow skin and tiny black eyes, was called the Forge Guardian by the Jedi Order, the inhabitants of Tython. This Guardian was notably larger than other jurgorans and dwelled in a cave situated beneath a rock bridge that crossed the canyon.

In the year 3643 BBY, the Guardian's rest was interrupted when the Padawan apprentice of Jedi Master Orgus Din activated the Forge, an ancient device employed for the creation of lightsabers, directly above the creature's cave. Enraged by this disturbance, the Guardian launched an attack on the young Jedi. Having recently defeated the Dark Jedi Bengel Morr and successfully rescued Master Din, the Padawan was compelled to kill the Guardian using their newly constructed lightsaber to ensure a safe return to the Jedi Temple.

Behind the scenes

The Forge Guardian is a character featured in Star Wars: The Old Republic, a video game developed by BioWare and released in 2011. It appears as part of the Jedi Knight's unique bonus mission, titled "Putting Your New Weapon to Use." After the player constructs their lightsaber, they are presented with the choice of either battling the jurgoran or circumventing the encounter by using quick-travel to reach one of the main areas on the planet, or teleporting to the nearest medical center upon defeat. The jurgoran possesses a buff labeled "Larger," indicating that it is bigger than normal, despite its actual size being identical to that of other jurgorans within the game.
