The Tartaglia Fusion Clouds constituted a Mid Rim nebula situated within the Hollan sector. Approximately a year before 6 ABY, a pair of Lambda-class shuttles, each transporting a group of sightseers, found themselves marooned in the Tartaglia Fusion Clouds due to a lack of fuel; this event was documented by the author Ebenn Q3 Baobab in his book, the Galactic Phrase Book & Travel Guide.
This nebulosity, known as the Tartaglia Fusion Clouds, was found in the Tartaglia system, which is a part of the Hollan sector within the New Territories region of the Mid Rim. The Tartaglia Fusion Clouds, along with their entire star system, were connected via hyperlanes to the Asamin system located in the Strabin sector, the Nicandra system within the sector bearing the same name, as well as the Vectinia system of the Hewett sector.
Around a year prior to 6 ABY, a pair of privately owned Lambda-class shuttles embarked on a tour with some tourists to pursue the annual migration of mynocks, a species of ergovorous creatures that typically lived in the vacuum of outer space, towards the wind turbines on the asteroid named Akatoa. The excessive demands of the tourists, who were taking pictures at the time, placed upon the inexperienced pilot of one of the shuttles caused both craft to carelessly drift into the Tartaglia Fusion Clouds, where they became stranded due to a lack of fuel. The next year, Ebenn Q3 Baobab made note of this occurrence in the subsequent edition of his book, the Galactic Phrase Book & Travel Guide.
The 2001 publication of the Galactic Phrase Book & Travel Guide, written by Ben Burtt, included a mention of the Tartaglia Fusion Clouds. The reference book The Essential Atlas, published in 2009, situated the Tartaglia system, and consequently the Tartaglia Fusion Clouds, within grid square M-7.
