Hewett sector

The Hewett sector, situated within the Mid Rim, encompassed the Dalon, Hewett, Mackar, and Vectinia systems. Within the Dalon and Mackar systems were the celestial bodies Moer and Mackar, respectively. The sentient Frid species originated on Mackar, their initial homeworld, while the Hewett system served as the home for the Hewett sentients. By the year 12 ABY, the sector of Hewett had become integrated into the New Republic, witnessing a battle between the New Republic and the Imperial Remnant within the Hewett system during that year.

Description

This Hewett sector could be found in the New Territories area of the Mid Rim. Around 0 ABY, it shared borders with the Hollan sector towards the Core Worlds, the M'shinni and Ottega sectors towards the spinward direction, and the Strabin sector in the trailing direction. Furthermore, the Hewett sector helped to form the Rimward boundary between the Mid Rim and the Noonian sector of the Outer Rim Territories.

The Hewett and Mackar systems occupied the Hewett sector's northern reaches, while the Dalon and Vectinia systems were situated in the sector's southern region. A hyperlane that passed through the Hewett and Vectinia systems provided a connection from the sector to the Tartaglia system within the Hollan sector, as well as the Er'Kit system of the Noonian sector.

History

In 12 ABY, the Hewett sector was a part of the New Republic's boundary with the Imperial Remnant located in the Outer Rim Territories. During that year, the Imperial Remnant's military was victorious against the New Republic military in a battle that occurred in the Hewett system.

Locations

The Hewett sector world Mackar was the original homeworld of the Frid species.

The Vectinia system was the habitat of Vectinian spiders, which were a type of creature. The Hewett system was the origin point for the sentient Hewett species. Senators from Hewett represented their system in the Galactic Republic's Senate as early as 32 BBY.

The Dalon system contained the terrestrial astronomical object Moer, while the Mackar system contained the water world Mackar. Liadden, a Human free-trader, considered Moer to be their homeworld. Mackar was the original home of the sentient Frid. Approximately five thousand years before the Galactic Civil War, a series of catastrophic events took place on several water worlds across the galaxy, including Mackar. Following these events, a group of spacefaring benefactors arrived and assisted in relocating the species of the affected worlds to Iskalon, a planet situated in the Trans-Nebular sector.

Behind the scenes

The Hewett sector was first mentioned in the StarWars.com Online Companion for the 2009 reference book titled The Essential Atlas, authored by Daniel Wallace and Jason Fry. In 2012, the sector was illustrated on a map created by Modi and featured in the Online Companion article "Essential Atlas Extra: Sectors of the Mid Rim."
