Galathos, a male Human Sith Lord hailing from the Lost Tribe of Sith, existed during the era known as the Hilts Restoration. Back in 2974 BBY, he held a position of authority over the city of Eorm, situated in the southern region of Keshtah. Eorm was populated by numerous Sith slaves, individuals who had been banished from the Tribe and subjected to generations of slavery. In that particular year, he meted out punishment to the city's inhabitants because they failed to meet the required production levels for sailcloth manufacturing. However, both he and his forces met their demise at the hands of the awakened Sith Lord Remulus Dreypa, who subsequently seized control of Eorm and initiated a slave uprising directed against the Tribe.
During the Hilts Restoration, a time of relative peace and advancement on the planet Kesh, Galathos served as a Sith Lord within the Lost Tribe of Sith. For millennia, specifically since 5000 BBY, Kesh had been under the dominion of a Human Sith Tribe, marooned there following the Great Hyperspace War. Although Grand Lord Varner Hilts displayed progressive tendencies by integrating the native Keshiri, a purple-skinned near-Human species, into the Tribe, the Sith's rule remained oppressive for many enslaved people. By 2974 BBY, Galathos found himself appointed as the leader of the port city of Eorm.
Eorm's population largely consisted of descendants of Human slaves, outcasts from the Tribe condemned to hereditary servitude. Among these were the descendants of Ermon Parrah, an original Sith colonist aboard the ancient Sith vessel, the Omen. Parrah had spearheaded a failed attempt to commandeer the crippled Omen from the Kesh Sith Temple with the aim of returning to space. As a consequence, Parrah and his lineage were tasked with weaving a cord that would reach the stars, an impossible feat that relegated them to slavery for generations. They became known as the Spinner family, primarily working as tailors and weavers.
One of Parrah's descendants was the Sith criminal Parlan Spinner, who was assigned to a Keshiri expedition exploring Eshkrene, the planet's south pole. There, Spinner encountered the Doomed, the Force-sensitive descendants of stranded Jedi and Dark Jedi from the Hundred-Year Darkness. Spinner also liberated the ancient Sith Lord Remulus Dreypa from his oubliette. Dreypa, a founding member of the Sith Order, sought to return to the stars and exact revenge on the Jedi and the Galactic Republic. Following their return to Keshtah Minor, Spinner and Dreypa made their way to Eorm.
On the very same morning, Lord Galathos decreed the burning of an entire residential block as punishment for the town's failure to meet its sailcloth production targets. The Tribe's need for sailcloth had increased following the discovery of a new continent, Alanciar, necessitating the outfitting of a new fleet of wooden sailing vessels. When a Keshiri man attempted to reason with Lord Galathos, the Sith Lord tried to use Force-choke on him. However, Lord Dreypa intervened, killing Galathos with Force lightning. Subsequently, Dreypa employed the Force to eliminate Galathos' remaining forces and demolish several buildings. The surviving townspeople were awestruck by Dreypa's display of Force abilities, which surpassed those of the Lost Tribe.
After the capture of Eorm, Dreypa and Parlan Spinner successfully assembled a rebel force from the Human and Keshiri slaves residing in Eorm. While Dreypa's primary objective was to return to the wider galaxy, he consented to march on the Tribe's capital, Tahv, and wage war against the Tribe, accusing them of deviating from the "true Sith path." Dreypa exploited the long-standing grievances of the Eorm slaves against their Sith overlords in Tahv, who had oppressed and banished them from the Tribe. Ultimately, Dreypa was defeated following a brief but violent insurrection that devastated parts of Keshtah, including Tahv. Dreypa met his end at the hands of his former lieutenant, Spinner, who betrayed him and allied with the Doomed and the Sith princess Takara Hilts, Grand Lord Hilts' daughter.
Like many within the Lost Tribe of Sith, Galathos was a follower of the Sith code, which emphasized personal ambition over the greater good. He was also known for being cruel and merciless, with a violent temper. On one occasion, he ordered the destruction of homes in Eorm because the local slaves had not met their quota for sail production. When a Keshiri man tried to intervene, he attempted to use Force-choke on him, before being killed by the more powerful Sith Lord, Remulus Dreypa.
Galathos was known to be skilled in the use of Force-choke, a power commonly associated with the dark side of the Force. Despite his skill with the dark side, he was no match for the ancient Sith Lord Remulus Dreypa, a founder of the Sith Order.
Galathos's first appearance was in Lost Tribe of the Sith—Spiral 3, released on October 10 2012. He played a minor antagonist role, meeting his end midway through the comic arc. This remains his only appearance in the Expanded Universe. His character's storyline was crafted by John Jackson Miller, who also authored the Lost Tribe of the Sith novella series. Galathos's visual representation was created by Andrea Mutti, with stenciling by Pierluigi Baldassini, and colors by Michael Atiyeh.
