Gallo Mountain University

Gallo Mountain University, situated within the Gallo Mountains on the planet Naboo in the Mid Rim, played an unexpected role during the Trade Federation's invasion of Naboo in 32 BBY. The institution's student housing was repurposed as camp three, a prison camp for civilians. Gregar Typho, a member of the Royal Naboo Security Forces who was imprisoned there, discovered a functional transmitter within the dormitories. He utilized it to intercept a broadcast announcing the return of Queen Padmé Amidala to Naboo.

Description

A higher learning institution, Gallo Mountain University, resided in the Gallo Mountains region of the Mid Rim planet Naboo. The university grounds included dormitory buildings.

History

Gallo Mountain University was located in the Gallo Mountains (pictured).

In 32 BBY, when the Trade Federation occupied Naboo, the university's dormitories were repurposed into a civilian prison facility known as camp three. Because the Trade Federation Droid Army mistakenly believed that all university students from Naboo were either artists or philosophers, they did not conduct a comprehensive search of the dormitories. Gregar Typho, a member of the Royal Naboo Security Forces and an imprisoned individual, dedicated much of his time at the university camp to ensuring the safety of his family members. As food supplies dwindled within the camp, Typho also assisted in finding sustenance for the children to eat.

Typho located a functioning transmitter within the dormitories of Gallo Mountain University. He collaborated with others to monitor communication channels, hoping to hear news about the occupation. During the early morning hours, while monitoring the transmitter, Typho intercepted a transmission revealing that Queen Padmé Amidala had finally returned to Naboo, paving the way for resistance against the occupying forces. Shortly thereafter, the university camp was shut down following the Trade Federation's defeat in the Battle of Naboo.
