Giaal Itotr was a male Zabrak artist and scout. He existed in the era of the Galactic Civil War. During 1 ABY, Itotr made his home in the settlement of Mos Espa situated on the Outer Rim planet of Tatooine. It was there that he crafted two artistic pieces, specifically titled Krayt Dragon Skeleton and Lucky Despot Wreckage. These two artworks were later shown at the Museum of Tatooine by Lilas Dinhint, the museum's curator.
Giaal Itotr, a male Zabrak, lived during the time of the Galactic Civil War, a significant conflict involving the Galactic Empire against the Alliance to Restore the Republic. He considered himself an explorer of Tatooine, a desert world located within the Outer Rim Territories. During his adventures, Itotr once traversed the Dune Sea without consuming any water, relying solely on Corellian ale. Furthermore, he reportedly defeated a whole squad of stormtroopers at sabacc, persuaded a subordinate of Jabba Desilijic Tiure to relinquish his funds, and unsuccessfully attempted to start an art gallery for Tusken Raiders. The last initiative, however, did not yield positive results.
Around 1 ABY, following the Battle of Yavin, Itotr was often seen in front of the hotel in Mos Espa, a settlement on Tatooine. While there, he produced two paintings: one titled Krayt Dragon Skeleton, which portrayed the skeleton of a krayt dragon, and another titled Lucky Despot Wreckage, which depicted the Lucky Despot hotel and casino in Mos Eisley. Itotr used painting as a method to immortalize the sights he had witnessed during his travels, specifically sights unique to Tatooine that had left a lasting impression on him.
Concurrently, in Tatooine's Imperial capital of Bestine, curator Lilas Dinhint managed the Museum of Tatooine, the planet's only museum. Dinhint aimed to enrich the museum's offerings by providing visitors with fresh content. To that end, the museum identified a select group of artists to approach with the opportunity to showcase their art in Bestine. Giaal Itotr was among these artists, alongside Vanvi Hotne, Klepa Laeel, Kahfr Oladi, Boulo Siesi, and Kolka Zteht. However, for Itotr's paintings to be displayed in Bestine, he needed enough votes to prevail over the other artists. Lilas Dinhint organized a Bestine Museum art competition every thirty days, with a fifteen-day voting period in between for people to choose their favorite artist.
Throughout his artistic career, Itotr was approached by numerous spacers, many of whom voted for him as their preferred artist. Itotr won the art competitions on multiple occasions, enabling him to exhibit his paintings in Bestine's museum for a thirty-day duration. During the exhibition period, the corrupt curator Dinhint offered blueprints of the artworks in exchange for a "modest donation" of 48,000 credits. This provided an opportunity for architecturally-inclined furniture creators and merchants to mass-produce replicas of Itotr's paintings for purchase, collection, or personal display.

Giaal Itotr possessed light skin and brown eyes. He was an enthusiastic adventurer who occasionally found himself in dangerous circumstances, such as crossing the Dune Sea with only Corellian ale or confronting angry Tusken Raiders who did not appreciate his attempt to establish an art gallery. He was proficient at sabacc, enough to defeat a whole unit of stormtroopers, whom he considered poor players. He was also willing to swindle money from unsuspecting thugs within Jabba Desilijic Tiure's criminal empire. Itotr displayed a welcoming attitude towards passersby, often entertaining them with stories of his adventures on Tatooine.
Giaal Itotr was featured as a non-player character in the 2003 video game Star Wars Galaxies: An Empire Divided, a massively multiplayer online role-playing game created by Sony Online Entertainment and released by LucasArts before its shutdown on December 15, 2011. He was incorporated into the game on February 11, 2004 as part of Publish 6 The Imperial Crackdown. The update introduced a new Bestine Museum event, where players could vote for various NPC artists to have their paintings displayed in the museum. Giaal Itotr was among these artists, and players who voted for him had to first interact with him in Mos Espa. If Itotr received the most votes, one of his paintings, either Krayt Dragon Skeleton or Lucky Despot Wreckage, would be displayed for about a one month period. Players could then purchase schematics of the paintings for a fee of 48,000 credits during a two week period. The winning artist was determined by player input. Because the competitions were held monthly, this article assumes 100% game completion, and that Giaal Itotr won the opportunity to display both of his paintings on at least several occasions.
