Biography

Jaretto visited Starlight Beacon, where he assisted its staff in handling a disturbance.

Gil Jaretto, a Jedi Master serving the Jedi Order, was assigned to Dubraib, a waterworld situated on the Galactic Frontier during the High Republic Era. In 231 BBY, while visiting the Galactic Republic's Starlight Beacon space station, a substantial fight broke out among a group of scientists from the Galactic Agricultural Alliance. These scientists had been exposed to a johto flower crossbred with the Drengir, a sentient species of carnivorous plant, triggering unusual aggressive behavior. As the station's administrator, Velko Jahen, and Head of Security, Ghal Tarpfen, discussed the appropriate response, Jaretto and five other Jedi approached, offering their assistance. Jahen accepted, stipulating that the Jedi minimize injuries. Jaretto acknowledged the terms with a bow and the six Jedi moved towards the group of combatants.

The arrival of the Jedi briefly halted the fighting. However, despite Jahen's initial relief, the brawl resumed, with the Jedi endeavoring to pacify the participants. Tarpfen then directed a security droid to deploy non-lethal [crowd suppression](/article/crowd_suppression] agents into the dining facility, the site of the altercation. Tarpfen instructed Jahen and the Jedi to withdraw to avoid exposure to the substance. After a brief, tense silence behind closed doors, the doors opened to reveal dozens of scientists sleeping peacefully. Jahen expressed her gratitude to Jaretto for his assistance, requesting that he and the other Jedi patrol the corridors to prevent further violence while she and Tarpfen managed the cleanup. Jaretto agreed, and the Jedi departed.
