Golan Arms was a manufacturer responsible for the creation of the DF.9 turret placement, which was a type of stationary laser cannon platform. In the course of the Galactic Civil War, the Alliance to Restore the Republic made use of Golan DF.9 emplacements on the planet of Hoth during their battle with the Galactic Empire at that location. A mobile artillery unit known as the SP.9, also made by Golan Arms, was employed by the Imperial Artillery Corps within the forces of the Galactic Empire.
The Imperial Sourcebook, a supplemental work authored by Greg Gorden for West End Games' Star Wars Legends Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game, provided the initial mention of Golan Arms. The reference book Ultimate Star Wars, which came out in 2015, established the company as canon.
