Gomgourds were a species of vegetable that was grown on Omaka, which is a planet. These gourds were grown by farmers who lived on the planet, but they also could be found growing naturally in the environment. A group of wild gomgourds was located on a mountain close to a village, growing under a Kroop bird nest, providing food for these avians.
Gomgourds had multiple culinary uses, most notably in a pie that was frequently eaten during the Dunkutu Day celebration. Another well-known dish was Gomgourd Seed and Ration Cream Noodles, which could be purchased at Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo situated on Batuu, a planet in the Outer Rim.
