Berenko-class speeder
The Berenko-class speeder, alternatively referred to as gondola speeders, represented a kind of aquatic transportation device employed within the Lake Country area of the planet Naboo. A yellow gondola speeder was operated by Paddy Accu, the custodian of the Varykino island sanctuary, to transport senator Padmé Amidala alongside Jedi Padawan Anakin Skywalker to Varykino not long before the outbreak of the Clone Wars.
These gondola speeders were named in honor of both the noble House Berenko and the poet Omar Berenko.
Behind the scenes
A Berenko-class gondola speeder initially surfaced within the novelization of Star Wars: Episode II Attack of the Clones penned by R. A. Salvatore during 2002, preceding the film's debut. The vehicle's designation was affirmed as canon via the reference publication Ultimate Star Wars, which saw release in 2015.
