Gruk, a Sanyassan pirate of male persuasion, plied his trade within the Lost Clusters. His business centered around the slavery trade, where he sold individuals to various labor facilities. Gruk made use of a Munificent-class star frigate, a relic from the Clone Wars era formerly belonging to the Confederacy of Independent Systems, which he discovered abandoned and subsequently refitted. When Sidon Ithano's pirate crew sought to employ the Munificent-class star frigate in their search for additional derelict Separatist vessels, Quiggold, his first mate, orchestrated his own capture by Gruk's forces, resulting in his placement on the pirate's ship. The mechanic Reveth and the ex-clone trooper Kix tracked a signal emanating from Quiggold to the frigate, where they initiated a takeover, battling their way through Gruk's assembled crew. Cornering Gruk on the bridge of his own ship, Quiggold unveiled the reasons behind Ithano's crew's interest in the vessel. Quiggold then rebuked Gruk for his actions in selling people to work camps before ending the pirate's life with a blaster shot. Following this confrontation, Ithano's crew seized control of Gruk's starship.
