Sidon Ithano, also known by such monikers as the "Crimson Corsair," "Blood Buccaneer," "Red Raider," "Silent Scourge of the Lost Clusters," and "Scourer of Adratharpe 7," was a male Delphidian pirate captain. Operating in the Outer Rim Territories during the decades after the [Galactic Civil War](/article/galactic_civil_war]'s end, Ithano was recognizable by his signature red Kaleesh mask. As the leader of a crew of pirates, he became renowned as the most skilled pirate in that region. He and his crew stumbled upon the wreckage of the Obrexta III, a ship that had served the Confederacy of Independent Systems a half-century (standard years) earlier, during the Clone Wars. Believing they would find valuable kyber crystals that once belonged to Count Dooku, they raided the vessel. Instead, they discovered Kix, a Galactic Republic clone trooper who had been frozen in stasis, along with the locations of various former Separatist bases.
Sidon Ithano, a male Delphidian hailing from the Delphidian Cluster, made his living as a pirate in the Outer Rim Territories of the galaxy in the years leading up to the conflict between the First Order and the Resistance. Ithano rose to prominence as the most well-known thief among his people, earning the epithet "Crimson Corsair" due to his attire: crimson [robes](/article/robe] covering most of his body, along with an ancient blood-red plasteel mask resembling those worn by the reptilian Kaleesh species. He had stolen the mask from them and adopted one of their masks to conceal his Delphidian origins. Ithano spent several years serving alongside the Weequay pirate Scorza aboard the New Gilliland, a cruiser operating in the Outer Rim. However, the New Gilliland met its end at the hands of the Hutt syndicate after Scorza betrayed Ithano and others to the Hutts. The Corsair survived the attack and managed to amass enough credits to fund his own crew, pointedly excluding Scorza due to his betrayal. Scorza took this personally and vowed revenge against Ithano.

Ithano's pirate band was based on his [starship](/article/starship], the Meson Martinet, which he captained, and in a cantina located on the desert planet Ponemah Terminal in the Outer Rim. Over the years, the Corsair and his crew participated in numerous battles, including the skirmish at Adratharpe 7, where Ithano earned significant recognition for his exceptional combat skills. He also holds the distinction of being the first pirate to navigate the Lost Clusters, a dangerous region beyond the Outer Rim. Ithano rarely spoke, relying on his crew's understanding through their close bond or hand signals to convey his orders, which only enhanced his legendary status.
Fifty standard years after the [Clone Wars](/article/clone_wars], Ithano's crew consisted of Quiggold, an amphibious Gabdorin who served as Ithano's first mate; Pendewqell, an Ishi Tib; Reeg Brosna, an [Arcona](/article/arcona]; Reveth, a red-skinned female Twi'lek; and Squeaky, a porcine Gamorrean.

One day while waiting in the Ponemah cantina, Ithano and his six crew members intercepted a transmission dating back to the Clone Wars. The message originated from B1-CC14, a B1-series battle droid stationed on the Obrexta III, a Confederacy of Independent Systems cruiser that had crash-landed on Ponemah during the Clone Wars, carrying the treasure of Count Dooku, the Separatist leader. Pendewqell convinced the captain and crew to locate the crashed cruiser and claim the treasure before other pirates could. Ithano and his crew set out towards the southern Sea of Sand, a region plagued by lightning storms, magma geysers, and 15-meter waves of caustic sand that acted as Penohma's sea. Due to these conditions, starships were unable to fly, so Ithano and his crew departed in their custom red-painted sail barge, the Shrike.
During their journey, Ithano's crew surmised that Dooku's treasure consisted of Jedi lightsaber kyber crystals collected during the Clone Wars, which would be extremely valuable on the black market. Unbeknownst to the Corsair and his crew, they were being pursued by several other criminal gangs, including Scorza and his gang, as well as the Gray Gundarks, a swoop biker gang.
As the Corsair's sail barge entered the Sea of Sand, a massive sandstorm-tornado pulled the Shrike off course. Ithano instructed Quiggold to translate the order to fire a kinetic disruptor torpedo into the tornado to freeze the storm and allow them to continue. Brosna and Quiggold followed the order, but the torpedo had a delayed trigger.
Scorza caught up to the Shrike and fired his skiff's laser cannons at Ithano's vessel, knocking Brosna overboard and causing significant damage. The Corsair launched tow cables onto Scorza's skiff to pull them away from the tornado. However, the Gray Gundarks interrupted with their attack, firing and boarding both vessels indiscriminately. As the battle intensified, a lava geyser erupted, setting many of the bikers and pirate vessels ablaze. Ithano fought the bikers with his vibro-sword, until Scorza confronted him seeking revenge. Scorza shot two bikers with a blaster and taunted the captain with his tale of revenge. The Corsair responded, stating he did not recognize the old Weequay pirate, as he had encountered many Weequay pirates in his life. Enraged, Scorza attacked his former friend with his sword. Ithano quickly gained the upper hand and kicked Scorza over the railing just as the kinetic disruptor detonated, freezing the vortex in place. The wreckage of the Obrexta III was on the other side of the vortex, and Ithano and his crew raced towards it, leaving their enemies to perish in the flames.
The Corsair and his crew soon reached an airlock to the cruiser. However, they discovered the bodies of members of the Fangs of the Hutt inside, poisoned by durilliam gases that had been leaking for over five decades. Unlike the other criminals, Ithano and his crew were prepared, donning rebreathers before entering the wreckage. The cruiser was filled with deactivated battle droids and corroded metal, so they carefully navigated the maze-like ship until they reached the bridge. An ion storm had swept through the region months prior, causing the ship and droids to slowly reactivate. The Corsair expressed concern about the danger the droids posed to Quiggold, leading Quiggold to question Pendewqell's judgment in bringing them there, as it had been Pendewqell's idea to begin with.

Ithano and his companions hurried to find the lost treasure before the droids became a threat. They located the ship's vault and breached it with blaster fire and explosives. To their surprise, they found a cryo-cycle stasis pod containing a sleeping being, rather than kyber crystals. Pendewqell reasoned that it must be valuable if it was in the vault. Ithano agreed and instructed his crew to awaken the pod. A Galactic Republic clone trooper emerged. The trooper had learned of a Sith plot to destroy the Jedi Order during the Clone Wars but had been captured and placed in stasis by Dooku before he could alert the Jedi and the Republic. The trooper, CT-6116, or "Kix," a medic, urgently explained that he needed to save the Republic by reporting his knowledge to Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker. Before Ithano could question the clone further, Kix lost consciousness.
Quiggold berated Pendewqell for leading them on a fruitless treasure hunt. Fearing punishment from the Corsair for endangering their lives, Pendewqell fled. Upset by Pendewqell's departure, Ithano instructed his crew to carry the unconscious clone and return to the Shrike as the Obrexta III began to fall apart and the droids reactivated. However, Scorza appeared, pointing a blaster at the pirates and demanding they stop. Quiggold, like Ithano, did not recognize Scorza, but watched in contempt as a squad of B2-series super battle droids walked up behind Scorza and shot him, allowing Ithano and his crew to escape once more. They reached the airlock just in time to see a massive sand worm devour the Shrike. The Corsair was becoming exasperated by the events and the loss of his sail barge. Following Quiggold's suggestion, they headed for the Obrexta III's escape pods.

Only one escape pod remained active, and not everyone could fit. Ithano selflessly stayed behind, sending his crew to safety as a sand worm tore through the wreck, causing it to explode. Ithano survived and retrieved the Obrexta III's memory core, which contained the locations of every Separatist base and droid factory. He eventually escaped the wreckage and the Sea of Sand. Three weeks after awakening Kix, Ithano returned to their cantina, shocking everyone, although Quiggold had refused to believe his friend was dead. Ithano gave Kix the memory core, who assured them they would become rich by plundering the forgotten bases. Kix then joined Ithano's crew as their guide, due to his expertise in Clone Wars-era military technology. Quiggold asked how the Crimson Corsair had escaped the fire, sand, sand worms, and droids. Ithano spoke, stating only that he was Sidon Ithano and would not die so easily.
With Kix on board, Ithano's crew proceeded to raid more Separatist holdouts. One such location was a misty swamp, where Ithano, Reveth, and Kix were ambushed by B1 battle droids emerging from the ground. C-3PO later described the event as "spooky."

Thirty years after the Battle of Endor, Ithano and Quiggold visited Takodana Castle, where Finn, a First Order defector, offered to join their crew in exchange for work and safe passage to the Outer Rim Territories, beyond the reach of the First Order. However, before Finn could board the Meson Martinet, the pirates' departure was interrupted by the destruction of the Hosnian system, visible in the skies above Takodana.
As First Order patrols reduced the amount of loot captured by Ithano and his crew, he began selling captured weapons to profit from the uncertainty of the First Order-Resistance War.

In 34 ABY, shortly before the Battle of Exegol, Ithano sold a vintage cache of super battle droids and one B1 droid to Kragan Gorr, a Quarren pirate, and his Warbird pirates. They intended to use them in their final attempt to seize control of the supertanker fuel depot Colossus. Gorr inquired about the Crimson Corsair's recent activities, but Ithano dismissed the pleasantries and demanded to know if Gorr wanted the cargo. When Gorr attempted to haggle the price due to the merchandise's worn appearance, Ithano gestured with his blaster rifle, forcing Gorr to accept the deal. Gorr ordered Drell to give the credits to Ithano. However, Ithano struggled to spend his credits due to the destruction of many of his favorite establishments.

Ithano fought against the Sith Eternal on Exegol, joining the Resistance ground team tasked with destroying a navigation tower. He later joined the Resistance and the allied Citizens' Fleet at their base on Ajan Kloss to celebrate their victory over the resurgent Galactic Emperor Darth Sidious and the Sith Eternal at Exegol.
Sidon Ithano wore a cape lined with armorweave and a large, red Kaleesh helmet with ear flares. He often carried a blaster rifle, proudly taken from a Kanjiklubber, and possessed a Longswat-44 sniper blaster rifle.

Sidon Ithano was created for the 2015 film Star Wars: Episode VII The Force Awakens. He was first pictured in a Vanity Fair article released on May 4, 2015, which featured a group photo of characters in Maz Kanata's castle. Ithano's first appearance in fiction was in "The Crimson Corsair and the Lost Treasure of Count Dooku," a short story by Landry Q. Walker published as an eBook on November 29.
Cavin Cornwall portrayed Ithano in Star Wars: Episode VII The Force Awakens, although he was credited as a "creature and droid performer" rather than for the specific role. David Acord voiced Ithano in the film and reprised the role in the Star Wars Resistance episode "The Mutiny."
