David Acord


David Acord is a sound editor employed by Skywalker Sound. His early career involved roles such as Apprentice Sound Editor on Attack of the Clones, Assistant Sound Editor on Revenge of the Sith, and Supervising Assistant [Sound Editor] for the DVD release of the original trilogy. He later served as sound designer (and subsequently re-recording mixer, filling both sound designer and sound editor roles) on Star Wars: The Clone Wars, sound designer/re-recording mixer on "LEGO Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Out," and sound designer/supervising sound editor on "Star Wars Rebels." Acord also held the positions of Supervising Sound Editor and Sound Designer for both Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, earning nominations from the Oscars and BAFTA for his contributions to these films. Furthermore, he was the Supervising Sound Editor and Sound Designer for Andor, as well as seasons 1 and 2 of The Mandalorian, for which he was awarded an Emmy.

In addition to his sound editing work, Acord lends his voice to numerous Star Wars characters. His initial voice acting role was for the GH-7 medical droid in Revenge of the Sith. Subsequently, Acord provided the voice for Rotta the Huttlet in The Clone Wars. In 2015, Acord voiced FN-2199, a riot control stormtrooper in Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Despite being a minor character, FN-2199 gained significant popularity among fans. Acord also voiced Two Tubes in both Rogue One and Andor, and Teedo from The Force Awakens. Notably, he is also the voice of Grogu in The Mandalorian.
