Haariden, a world of [volcano](/article/volcano/legends]s, served as the original homeworld of the lava crab species. A single moon orbited it, appearing pink when viewed from the planetary surface.
The discovery of potential titanite mines in 37 BBY sparked a civil war on the planet, fueled by disputes over land and future mining privileges. It was later found that synthesized titanite could be a crucial ingredient in bacta, however, titanite was extremely scarce and difficult to extract. The mineral was usually located so deep within the planet, near the core, that the cost of extraction usually exceeded its value.
The civil conflict concluded in 26 BBY with the arrival of a team of Jedi Knights on a rescue mission. Their objective was to retrieve five Republic scientists who had been sent by the Galactic Senate for environmental research. The group of scientists consisted of Fort Turan (the mission leader), Tic Verdun (a scout, who was actually a Force Blank Granta Omega in disguise), Joveh D'a Alin, Talie Heathe, and Reug Yucon.
Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi were part of the Jedi team, alongside Master Soara Antana and her Padawan Darra Thel-Tanis, who sustained injuries during the operation. Ultimately, peace was restored to Haariden as Kenobi and Skywalker thwarted Omega's schemes to disrupt it.
