The Harrod's Planet system existed within the Oplovis sector of the Outer Rim Territories'. This system was home to the star known as Harrod, which had Harrod's Planet in orbit. It was located along the Braxant Run hyperlane. During the Galactic Civil War, the Imperial Oplovis Sector Fleet's base was situated on Harrod's Planet. After a Rebel Alliance assault in the Yuvern system, the Sector Fleet retreated to Harrod's Planet. The fleet then remained within operational range of its base for six months before being deployed to the Atrivis system around 2 ABY.
Found within the New Territories area of the [Outer Rim Territories](/article/outer_rim_territories-legends], the Harrod's Planet system contained the Oplovis sector. The star Harrod was at its heart, with the only habitable world in the system, Harrod's Planet, orbiting it. The Braxant Run hyperlane passed through the Harrod's Planet system, connecting it to the Ketaris system and the Mirgoshir system within the Lahara sector.
Harrod's Planet served as the location for the Galactic Empire's Oplovis Sector Fleet's base during the Galactic Civil War. A Rebel Alliance battle line launched a surprise attack in the Yuvern system, which forced the Sector Fleet to pull back to Harrod's Planet. Cane Adiss, a Yuvernian smuggler whose starship was undergoing inspection by the Empire at the time of the assault, was also compelled to rejoin the fleet at its base; however, Adiss would later depart the system to continue his smuggling activities.

Gaen Drommel took over as the new admiral of the Oplovis Sector Fleet two months following the battle in the Yuvern system. For the next six months, the fleet remained close to its base on Harrod's Planet, refraining from any significant military operations. Alliance Intelligence Commander Zgorth'sth later theorized that the initial two months were spent by the new admiral on administrative tasks and officially assuming command, followed by four months of maneuvers intended to integrate the force's personnel and the new command structure.
By 2 ABY, the Alliance probe droid known as D-127X was stationed at the edge of the Oplovis sector, where it monitored the transmissions of the Sector Fleet. The droid intercepted highly encrypted bursts originating from the fleet's flagship and directed towards the base on Harrod's Planet. After four weeks of D-127X's assignment, the Oplovis Sector Fleet departed Harrod's Planet to engage the Alliance army on Mantooine in the Atrivis sector, but it suffered a defeat in the Atrivis system against an Alliance battle line. A decade later, between 12 ABY and 13 ABY, the Harrod's Planet system was located within the territory of the Imperial Remnant, the successor state to the Galactic Empire.
The Essential Atlas, a reference book from 2009 written by Daniel Wallace and Jason Fry, was the first source to mention the Harrod's Planet system, locating it in grid square M-5.
