During their operation against the renegade Imperial Warlord Zsinj, Wraith Squadron maintained a secret identity known as the Hawk-bat Independent Space Force, or more simply, the Hawk-bats.
Operating as the Hawk-bats, the Wraiths established their base of operations in the abandoned asteroid mine A3, situated within the Halmad system. They utilized the Xiytiar-class transport named Sungrass for the purpose of transporting stolen TIE/LN starfighters and TIE/IN interceptors. Before attracting Zsinj's attention, the Hawk-bats successfully executed several acts of piracy in the Halmad system and its vicinity. Subsequently, they successfully infiltrated Zsinj's ranks, participating in the warlord's attack targeting the Kuat Drive Yards. Their actions played a role in the destruction of Razor's Kiss and they also gathered crucial intelligence concerning the warlord.
